My 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid is experiencing the widely documented 'sticky seering' medhanical defect, causing the vehicle to momentarily catch, stick and jerk at highway speeds, creating a severe overcorrection and crash hazard. The dealership (Skyway Honda Bartlesville, OK) confirmed the rack and pinion system is failing but wants to charge me almost $4789.87 in parts/labor to repair it because Honda corporate has not yet extended the official 24v-744 recall to the 2022 model year. Honda service advisor was able to reproduce the issues No warning lights or messages

2022 CRV-EX with 21,550 miles Steering began sticking about six months ago when turning or rounding curves and has been getting progressively worse. I'm aware of 2023 and newer CRV's being recalled and repaired for this same problem and am hoping that the recall for this dangerous issue could be ordered for the 2022 models. Thank you

I am experiencing a strong mechanical binding, "sticky" sensation, and noticeable clicking noise in the steering wheel of my 2022 Honda CRV when turning, particularly at low speeds and near center, though it is noticeable at highway speeds. There are no warning lights or DTC codes. When rotating the wheel, there is distinct friction and a catching point. While it can be moved past with extra effort, this binding is unpredictable and I sometimes over-correct. The symptoms on my 2022 model are identical to the failure documented in American Honda's safety recall 24V-744 (only covering 2023–2025 CRVs) as well as Honda Service Bulletin 22-011 / Product Update 10216920 for the EPS Gearbox. Despite over 130 identical steering failure complaints logged by 2022 CRV owners on NHTSA, the 2022 model year remains excluded from recall 24V-744. I am filing this report so NHTSA can evaluate expanding campaign coverage retroactively to include 2022 models suffering from this exact EPS defect.

Steering wheel sticking when I turn left and making ticking noise. Took it to Honda and I have to pay $5k to replace the steering wheel rack. They won’t tell me why this happened and it’s because they know the manufacturing part has a defect but they won’t put out a recall for this issue, even though Honda crv years 2023-2025 have an open recall for this issue.

The Steering appears to be sticky on highway speeds. Honda has the recall for this exact same issue but seems like 2022 CRV was excluded from the recall. This is a major safety issue which can easily lead to over correction as you need to add extra strength to adjust the steering wheel when driving on the road.

When I drive, whether at low or highway speeds, the steering sticks in place and needs to be yanked lightly to correct it. This behavior is described by NHTSA Campaign 24V-744, but Honda says that my VIN is not covered. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I have to force correct my steering which can lead to overcorrection. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, it has been confirmed by a diagnostic at Honda East Cincinnati. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Only the dealer service department. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There are no warning lights or messages. The problem appears in daily driving.

I was driving on hwy when I had to do a hard stop because traffic stopped suddenly in front of my vehicle, no physical contact was made to any cars in front or back of me, suddenly dark smoke started coming from under the hood of car, The car started stalling in middle of the hwy I got out safely opened hood and seen engine area was on fire another person in a vehicle pulled over came out with a fire extinguisher and sprayed to put fire out. there were no prior symptoms or warnings prior to this problem occuring.The car was picked up by my insurance company and taken to a Honda dealer and that is where car is located as they are trying to repair fire damages and no one knows why this fire ocurred.

Driving downhill on Ohio Turnpike at high speed the check engine light started flashing and the car lost power. 2nd time this has happened in one month's time this summer. First time was also on the Turnpike at high rate of speed, going uphill, on a 90+ degree day. Second time was mid 80's, going downhill. Both times after turning car off and on again, check engine light was no longer visible. No codes stored to help determine issue.

My 2022 CRV steering wheel sticks when driving and does not want to turn and is difficult to steer causing me to have to force the wheel and nearly wreck my car. The steering wheel also feels loose and spins around and round while at a stop. The steering wheel knocks/pops during a hard turns. Since this a safety issue well documented online for Honda CRV 2022-2025, I would expect for there to be a recall, but there is not one on my 2022 CRV even though I have been experiencing the issue since 4-6 months ago.

VISIBILITY/WIPER

Driving down highway and sunroof spontaneously shattered/exploded. There was no external impact, debris or collision that could explain the failure. Fragments scattered outwards toward roadway as well as lying in sunroof well. I am filing this report to to document the incident and request that NHTSA consider it as part of an ongoing or future investigation into sunroof failures. Car was brought into a local Honda dealer which assumed no responsibility for factory free repair.

About two years ago on an unfamiliar 2 lane highway the stearing failed to recenter itself at the end of a sweeping corner and felt unusually heavy. Thought it might be tire ruts in the road. Breifly on a couple different occasions the steering didnt feel right, like "is it the road or the car". then a few weeks ago on a very familiar stretch of interstate, the car started to pull right so I corrected but the stearing was heavy/ stiff feeling. It continued for about a mile though bends in the road and then became very heavy, feeling similar to trying to turn the wheels sitting still with the engine off. Then suddenly after that felt normal again. No doubt now something is wrong. My wife usually drives the car. I'm a retired local truck driver of mainly urban driving. A less experinced person could easily apply the needed force to correct, then overcorrect causing a crash. To random to be reproduced by dealer. No warning lamps. Formal complaint made to the manufacturer. It is available for inspection

It seems that once the vehicle has been driven for a bit and things heat up, the steering will become 'sticky' when trying to turn, even small turns of the steering wheel. This is accompanied by a creaking sound when turning. At high speeds this is especially concerning due to the steering sticking, which then requires a big of additional force, which abruptly yanks the direction of the vehicle as opposed to smooth steering transitions. The problem was diagnosed by a local mechanic center, which informed me that a recall for this exact problem was issued for 2023 and newer models of my vehicle, which is a 2022. Due to my vehicle falling just outside of the 2023 window, the manufacturer would not help me.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds and turning on several occasions, the steering wheel became firm and excessive force was needed to turn the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the rack and pinion and gearbox needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact believed that the failure was associated with an unknown recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 43,700.

When the car is cold and driving around town the electric power steering is fine. But once the car heats up and especially when driving on the highway there is a noticeable issue with the steering. When trying to maintain my position in the lane or making a gradual turn on a curve, the steering sticks for an instant. This continues for the entire trip. It is difficult to have a smooth drive with the steering. I have been told there are some gears that expand with the heat causing them to have a slight hesitation trying to mesh whenever a turn is made. This seems to me to be a big safety issue wondering when the gear won't mesh properly and I may be unable to navigate a turn. This is not a one time incident. This happens every time the car gets heated up during a drive. I called Honda and was told that my VIN did not qualify for a recall. I have seen other complaints filed with this same problem.

CRV began a slight resistance feeling when steering coupled with a slight screeching/rubbing sound. Took vehicle to Gilman Honda, in Rosenberg Texas. They kept the car over 24 hours and told us they didn’t notice anything. We went to dealer and drove the vehicle with technician. He stated the noise wasn’t worth a fix and the car was ok to drive until the noise got worse. He stated the car would most likely need a whole power steering rack replacement in the future but was not needed at that moment. The noise is a lot worse now and the resistance on the steering is too. Our major problem is dealer technicians not giving us an accurate diagnosis, so we can make a decision on repairing the vehicle. I have since began reading about steering issues and became aware this new steering component used by Honda has had numerous recorded issues but it has failed to back its product. It doesn’t help that they are also not assessing the problem honestly at the dealer repair locations.

My 2022 Honda CR-V has a "sticky steering" issue. This is a well-documented problem that has resulted in the recall of many Honda vehicles. It occurs regularly and results in the need to apply additional pressure to the steering wheel in order to correct the vehicle direction on a curve. This often results in an over-correction.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

The contact stated that while driving at a very slow speed in heavy traffic, the vehicle suddenly experienced "Phantom Braking" causing the vehicle to abruptly stop in the middle of the road, causing a second vehicle to almost crash into the rear end of the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 18,540.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel failed to turn in the intended direction. The contact stated that the steering wheel was sticking. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had occurred after the vehicle was driven approximately 20–30 minutes. The failure was persistent. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact was informed that the failure was a known failure with similar vehicles. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not associated with a recall related to the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000.

STEERING

Steering "sticks" when going at highway speeds around long corners in any weather condition. The steering also sticks and clicks in tight turns at any speed, noticeably more often when outside temperatures are 85 degrees and above. I thought it could be the road departure mitigation or the vehicle stability assist system, but neither indicator was shown on the dash during the sticky steering incidents. The sticky steering makes me worried about driving on the highway and having to maneuver corners, since the only way to regain control of the wheel is to lightly jerk it out of the stuck position. The fact that the 2023-2025 models were recalled for the sticky steering made me believe my 2022 CR-V was safe from the steering issue so the first few times it occurred during my warranty period I thought it was an actual safety feature. I was certainly wrong! I have 16,500 miles on my car, do not drive many miles, and am 9 months outside of the warranty. The dealership wants to replace the steering gear on the vehicle in accordance with Honda Service Bulletin 24-011 charging me a cost of $2,200.

POWER TRAIN

On or about April 17, 2026, while driving my 2022 Honda CR-V equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine (approximately 53,890 miles), I experienced a sudden loss of engine power and performance. There were no warning lights, warning messages, or other symptoms prior to the incident. The first indication of a problem occurred during the failure itself. Diagnostic testing later identified DTC P0299 (turbocharger underboost). The vehicle was transported to an authorized Honda dealership (Stokes Honda North), where technicians diagnosed a catastrophic turbocharger failure. During their inspection, they determined that metal from the failed turbocharger had contaminated the engine and recommended complete engine replacement. The sudden loss of engine power created a significant safety concern because the vehicle could not accelerate normally in traffic. A loss of power while merging onto a highway, crossing an intersection, or attempting to avoid another vehicle could increase the risk of a collision. The failure was confirmed by the authorized Honda dealership. The vehicle was also inspected by American Honda as part of its warranty review. Although Honda denied warranty coverage, I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe is a potential safety-related failure involving the turbocharger and resulting engine damage. The vehicle remains available for inspection if requested. I respectfully ask NHTSA to determine whether similar failures are occurring in other 2022 Honda CR-V vehicles equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine and whether further investigation is warranted.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

On July 15 around 7:15 AM in the morning I was driving on my way to work at a highway speed of about 55mph and all of a sudden I just heard almost like an explosion or something had hit the vehicle and I saw something flying off the roof. The vehicle has the sunroof and so I decided to pull over and I checked the vehicle and sure enough the sunroof seemed to randomly shatter. nothing had hit the vehicle, there were no other vehicles near me. I don’t recall having vehicle being hit by anything anytime recently. The last two days we had extremely high temperatures and I did use the AC at low temperatures and wondered if the change of temperature may have played a role. I purchased the vehicle on February 7, 2026. I got really scared that that if the sunroof had been uncovere, that glass could have shattered and hurt me or could have hurt someone else. I had the car towed and had it repaired and they told me that there was no warranty to repair the vehicle so I had to pay out-of-pocket.

STEERING

Vehicle makes a clicking noise and steering hesitates while making a turn left or right sometimes the steering freezes up. Local Honda dealer diagnosed it has needing a new power steering and rack system, on newer models, This is a recall item, but they said our VIN number did not fall within the parameters of the recall, but yet we are experiencing the same problem as described in their safety bulletin.

ENGINE

Car went into "limp mode" while we were driving on the turnpike on a hill at 70 MPH. Speed dropped to 30 MPH in an area with a construction zone so there was little room to pull to the side of the road safely. We were lucky to be in the right lane so made it to the side next to the construction barrels.

STEERING

The steering has become "sticky", the service shop says the steering gear box is bad and must be replaced. There were no warnings. It just suddenly seemed like when I tried to turn left the car steering was fighting me and trying to jerk back to straight. It was intermittent at first, then became regular with turning left, and recently began doing it when turning right --even slight turns. We had to have the vehicle serviced for regular maintenance and asked the service dealer to look into it. They told us we must replace this or lose all steering at sometime in the near future. There is a recall on 2023-2025 Honda CR-V for the same issue, but not my vehicle.

My wife was unloading bags of groceries from the back of the vehicle. I had opened the liftgate once I pulled into the garage. One of the bags she grabbed was double bagged but one came off and went under the rear bumper. I got to the back of the car where she was at and I asked her what was the bag under the car, assuming it still had items in it. She explained it had came off the bag in her hand and she reached down to grab it. When she got it I heard the noise from the liftgate that a closure was activated via her getting the bag from under the car. It was coming down fairly quick. I told her loudly to move back, the liftgate was closing. When she did she lost her balance. She rotated around and fell in the driveway, skinning her knees and her hands and ended up on her back wondering what happened. Thankfully she did not hit her head. She is [XXX] and coordination is not a strong suit for either of us. I am [XXX]. A similar event happened to me when I had to reach something deeper into the back of the car and my foot went too far underneath the rear, activating the liftgate closure. Steering wheel would stick when going around curves. It felt like I was losing control of the vehicle. A clicking sound could be heard when this happened. Thankfully, when the top mechanic at my Honda dealership test drove the vehicle, he heard the sound and felt the lack of control of the 2022 CRV. As a result, he found there was a failure in the steering gear box. This happened with about 27,000 miles on the vehicle. My vehicle was not part of the recall and was out of warranty because of its age, but the dealer covered the cost for the repair for which I am very thankful. He probably saved my life and a few others! All of the 2022 Honda CRV should be part of the recall.

My 2022 Honda CR-V experiences the "sticky steering" defect that has been widely reported and is currently under NHTSA investigation (EA23003). While driving at highway speeds, the steering wheel intermittently locks, requiring increased effort to move the wheel. When the steering finally releases, it often results in overcorrection, creating a dangerous safety hazard. I previously assumed that the issue was lane keeping assist but after my last honda service i started getting noise when turning the wheel. It's the exact same noise that happens in the honda civic steering pinion where the wormgear rubs against the plastic with insufficient grease as shown in this video [XXX] My safety is not put at risk because i have learned to expect the steering locking and compensate for it but it will only get worse over time. The problem was confirmed by the dealer but their solution is to replace the rack and pinion but the reports online say that the issue comes back because the part itself has the defect from the factory, the same as with the other 1.7m recalled honda vehicles with the same problem. There was no warning message and there still isn't any message on the vehicle saying that the rack has failed, it just locks intermittently and makes the clicking noise because of the insufficient grease. As i previously mentioned, the locking has been happening for quite some time but only after I was told that the noise was coming from the "failed" rack i found the sticky steering issues which then got me to disable all steering assist and sure enough the steering still sticks. ENGINE

The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 50-60 MPH, the check engine warning light flashed and several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle went into LIMP Mode, lost motive power, and failed to properly accelerate. The contact restarted the vehicle; however, the vehicle remained in LIMP Mode. The contact exited the interstate, left the vehicle in a parking lot, and had the vehicle towed to a dealer the following day. The failure was a recurring failure. The contact stated the vehicle had been inspected by two independent mechanics and two Honda dealers and was currently located at a third Honda dealer awaiting a diagnostic test. The first independent mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The first dealer diagnosed the vehicle with an inoperable spark plug and ignition coil in cylinder #1. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The second independent mechanic replaced all the spark plugs and ignition coils; however, the failure persisted. The second dealer diagnosed the vehicle with head gasket failure and determined that the timing belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to a third Honda dealer but it was not yet diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened; however, the contact stated that no response had been received. The failure mileage was 95,000.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

The check engine light came on right after my warranty expired two winters ago but then went off. Since then I randomly comes on and goes off. I decided to buy a diagnostic kit and see that it is faulting on the evac system with 6 error codes. I know this is a known issue with my make and model but Honda has yet to issue a recall.

There is clicking sound while I turn steering wheel, and the steering is not smooth, it is stuck sometimes in place and needs more force to move it. The sound is at low speeds or high speeds on the highways. It is random.

Steering rack failure. Steering wheel "sticks" when straightening out of a curve. This causes a need to force the steering wheel more which then causes an over-correction, possibly into another lane. Very unsafe. Steering rack failure has been confirmed by dealer. It is a known problem by Honda, but yet has never been recalled for 2022 crv's. This problem could get someone killed, a child killed. Honda should be ashamed, especially charging owners $4,000 to fix a problem that is theirs. This is criminal.

My 2022 Honda CR-V is having the same issue has the 2023-2025 Honda CR-V's. The steering is sticky. The 2023-2025 were issued a recall but the 2022 is not covered. The is a safety hazard for me and family and puts others in danger as well. From researching, many 2022 owners are having the same issues but no recall has been granted. There are no warning lights on and have never came on to indicate a problem. I hope that you will take into consideration the 2022 Honda CR-V in a national recall. Honda should be made to pay for this problem. If this recall is not issued this could be detrimental to others on the highway. Steering wheel was sticking. Adjustments to stay in a straight line were difficult and imprecise. An existing recall on this exact issue did not include my vehicle. Although, Honda covered 80% of the steering repair, I had to pay $888 to have the steering repair and 4 wheel alignment done. I assert that the recall should include my vehicle and be reimbursed for the money I paid.

I bought this vehicle CPO at a Honda dealer. A pronouced steering issue arose with long banked curves as I drove home that was not evident with straight driving during my test drive. The dealer at first replaced the stabilizer bars but the issue of catching and noise persisted. Upon talking to my son, I learned of the recall associated with the vary same symptoms with Hondas however my year was not included in the recall. The dealership gave me a loaner while it took over 3 weeks to get and install the replacement steering rack. The vehicle no longer has any mechanical issues. I believe the recall years on this issue should be expanded to include 2022 CRVs.

I believe my 2022 CRV has the same issue as the 23 to 25 recall for the steering gearbox issue. My car steering wheel gets stuck and can be hard to turn and I’m worried about the safety for me and my family in my car. Please investigate this issue and I believe it should be extended to 2022 year model for recall. I see online other people with 2022 also face this issue. PLEASE HELP IM CONCERNED. I recently purchased this vehicle and have already experienced three separate chips in the windshield caused by small rocks during normal driving conditions. The frequency with which the windshield has chipped has led me to question the durability and quality of the glass used in my Honda CR-V. While I understand that windshields can be damaged by road debris, it is concerning that a vehicle has sustained multiple chips in such a short period of time. This has resulted in inconvenience, concern about the windshield's long-term integrity, and the potential for costly repairs or replacement. I am requesting that Honda review this matter and advise whether there are any known issues regarding windshield durability for my vehicle. When going a higher speed on freeway, steering “sticks” when on curves. This problem was recalled for 2023-2025 Honda CRV’s, but the same problem is happening with 2022’s.

I have experienced all of the following: "Sticky" Steering: A momentary feeling that the steering wheel catches or sticks when trying to turn it, often requiring extra force to break it loose, Notchy or Jerky Feel: When breaking through the sticky point, the car may jerk slightly, Abnormal Noises: You may hear clicking, grinding, or rubbing noises coming from the front of the vehicle when turning and Increased Effort: It becomes noticeably harder or stiffer to turn the steering wheel. There are no issues when driving straight but when I turn the wheel, into a curve or exiting or entering a ramp for example the wheel can stick and I have to apply additional force to complete the turn. I have also experienced a notch or jerky when completing wider turns, the steering seems to stick in muliple places while the turn is being made. There is also a clicking or popping sound that occurs at each sticking point. There have been no warning lights and I have tried turning on and off all the various lane assist features thinking that the issue was with the technology. Family members have verified these issues but I just found out about this issue after searching on the internet and checking to see that my vehicle was not included even though many of the searches said 2022 was included. If I can get my dealership to look at this issue or another professional I will make an additional complaint.

The steering system made clicking noises and while turning would lock up. I took this to Honda, and they replaced the steering rack. This was extremely unsafe, especially at higher speeds. I did not feel safe driving this vehicle with the steering system failing. This VIN was not included in a Honda recall for the steering system and the steering system failed. The cost of repair was $3400.00. Honda agreed to pay approximately $1100.00.

The rack and pinion steering system failed. This was a definite safety issue, with vehicle being unsafe to drive. There were no warning messages but the steering itself was sticking and binding at travel speeds. This vehicle had 40525 miles at the time of repair and just fallen out of warranty.

While driving my 2022 Honda CRV at highway speeds and at operating temperature, the steering sticks and/or pauses then releases causing the steering to jerk back in the opposite direction. This creates a major safety issue while driving on the highway and can potentially cause an accident. Additionally, when turning the vehicle left at slow speeds, we would periodically hear a clicking noise. These problems began at the beginning of 2024 and have progressively gotten worse. Initial attempts to have Honda identify the problems failed as they could not replicate the problems at the time of diagnostics. During this time, our warranty expired. On May 20, 2026, we once again had the vehicle inspected by Pohanka Honda of Salisbury, MD for the same issues. This time the lead mechanic technician was able to replicate and pinpoint the problem. He noted the problem was the "Electrical Power Steering System Assembly and Gearbox Assembly", which contained the worm gear and worm wheel assembly. The dealership quoted us a price of $2,153.00 for parts, labor, and a full alignment, which is required during this type of repair. The service technician advised there are no current recalls to cover the cost of this repair. The Honda Corporation has suggested we apply for their “Goodwill Assistance Program”, to help cover cost for out-of-warranty repairs, but there was no guarantee that we would qualify for any monetary relief. We believe Honda Corporation is ignoring a major defect and safety issue regarding the electrical power steering assembly and gearbox, on older CRV models. This same part has been deemed as defective and a major safety issue on newer CRV models between 2023-2025 and has recalled those vehicles for repair. I believe the company should be required to recall all vehicles with the defective electrical power steering assembly and gearbox. Fortunately for us, Honda made the repair and covered the full cost through the Goodwill Assistance Program.

STEERING

We are experiencing the dangerous 'Sticky/Notchy' electric power steering (EPS) conditions in our 2022 Honda CR-V, identical to the symptoms described in NHTSA Recall 24V-744. The steering wheel momentarily binds or sticks, particularly at highway speeds and when attempting to complete or recover from a turn. It requires noticeable extra physical effort to 'break' the wheel free from this sticky center point, which frequently causes the vehicle to momentarily jerk or overcorrect. The issue has become progressively worse with the onset of warmer summer weather. Our independent mechanic verified the issue but confirmed our specific 2022 VIN falls just outside the current recall parameters. Because the 2022 CR-V shares similar EPS components and exhibits the exact manufacturing defect, safety risk, and component degradation as the 2023–2025 models, the NHTSA should expand the recall population to include these earlier production dates before a serious incident occurs.

I was driving on the highway and I wanted to pass someone the car cut power and was not accelerating and the car slowed down. I went to a mechanic shop and they said there was an internal brake sensor failed and brake booster failure.

STEERING

Abnormal sound when turning the steering wheel specially at stationary state. Notice that steering the wheel feels heavy.

LANE DEPARTURE

The issue involves the driver’s-side blind spot monitoring system. In my experience, the system does not recognize or alert me to vehicles approaching from behind in the adjacent lane until they are nearly even with the driver’s door. In many situations, the blind spot warning light does not illuminate while a vehicle is occupying what most drivers would reasonably consider the blind spot area. Instead, the alert often appears only after the vehicle is already alongside my vehicle. This creates a significant safety concern. The purpose of a blind spot monitoring system is to provide advance warning of vehicles approaching from behind before a lane change is initiated. When the system does not recognize a vehicle until it is already beside the driver’s door, the warning is delayed to the point that it provides limited practical value in helping prevent a collision. I have discussed this concern with Honda dealership personnel and have been advised that the system is operating as designed and that there is no repair, adjustment, or calibration available to improve its performance. While I appreciate their efforts, I find it concerning that a safety-related feature may be functioning exactly as intended while still failing to provide what I believe is adequate advance warning for drivers. As a driver, I would expect the system to provide earlier notification when another vehicle is occupying the adjacent lane and approaching from the rear.

STEERING

Sticky Steering. Some over correction needed.

POWER TRAIN · VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL · ENGINE

This morning, around 9 AM, I was stopped on [XXX] in traffic, just south of [XXX] . [XXX] ) Foot on break, waiting for traffic to start moving. Engine suddenly revved to about 4k RPM. Car started to lurch a bit, I had to put increased pressure on the brake to hold it. I wasn’t sure the brake would hold, so I shifted to neutral, engine revved up over 4k. It settled back down and I was able to drive to the Honda dealer on [XXX] (less than a mile from where the incident occurred.) Left the car there to be worked on. Car was in the engine idle shutoff mode. I don’t recall if it started revving coming out of that mode, but I don’t think so since my foot would have been off the brake at that point. Other than the lurch that occurred while I was pressing hard on the brake, I didn’t move the car until after I had put it in neutral and it settled down. Then I put it in drive and moved forward. I don't recall any warning lamps or messages. No report yet from the Honda dealer [XXX] ), but I wanted to report this since this should never happen -- regardless of the root cause. POWER TRAIN

Honda 2022 CR-V - Rear Differential (RD) locking up, jerking, slipping, not moving smoothly. When backing up and turning the RD has been jerking and slipping for more than 2 years. I had the vehicle in the shop 2+ years ago and explained the problem and they claimed they could not find a problem and gave the car back to me. Now it's back in the shop again as the problem is worse. The powertrain is still under warranty so I assumed they would cover it, however they said it's my fault so they won't cover it. Honda dealer wants $4000 to fix. So next i contacted American Honda and explained it to them. After a week of waiting they came back and said we will give you a discount to $2500. My response it this should be under warranty. They will not admit they had defective Rear Differentials as I saw NHTSA had an open inquiry of these RDs. NHTSA Action Number: PE22011. Now I am waiting to get my CR-V back and pay the hefty bill even though this is clearly a Honda defect. Can you help me get a Recall opened to American Honda to fix these Rear Differentials? The Honda company and the Luther dealer have not been honest and they need to be held accountable.
