ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
I am requesting that Toyota escalate a safety-related concern involving my 2022 Camry SE. Every time I start my vehicle, I receive the audible Communication Module Failure warning instructing me to contact my dealer. Both SOS indicator lights remain completely off. My dealership is refusing to investigate the issue unless I pay an out-of-pocket diagnostic fee. I have located Toyota Technical Service Bulletin T-SB-0089-21 Rev. 2, which addresses Data Communication Module issues affecting certain 2020–2022 Camry vehicles. Given that this involves the emergency communication and Safety Connect system, I am requesting that Toyota review my vehicle’s VIN for applicable campaigns, technical service bulletins, and warranty or goodwill coverage. I do not believe I should have to pay simply to have Toyota investigate a potentially defective emergency communication system. If Toyota will not cover the diagnostic, I would like that decision documented and escalated to a regional customer relations representative.
